Charlie’s got a gun – still

The whole company reported to the familiarization fire range today with their weapons to shoot at targets that are computer programmed to pop up in different locations on the range. Cadets cycled through and competed for highest scores, while those who were finished sang cadences (songs designed to keep soldiers in step on march) in the bleachers.  This afternoon, Cadets retired to their barracks to clean and maintain their weapons.

Charlie’s got a gun

Charlie company finished up with zeroing in on their weapons today out at the range, shooting with live ammo and practicing their aim and technique in the EST trailer (Engagement Simulation Training.)  EST is a digital game hooked up to wired M-16s to gauge the shooter’s weaknesses.  Those who have already zeroed were at the barracks practicing assault squad tactics.

Delta Land Navigation

From Sunday until Tuesday night, Delta Cadets will be working on the Land Navigation Course. This includes learning to read maps and navigate through different forms of terrain to find their listed points on their assignment sheets.

Charlie leapfrogs logs

Charlie took on the Air Assault obstacle course this morning, challenging their quickness and agility through a series of physically demanding obstacles.  The Cadets cheered each other through to their afternoon distinguished speaker, retired Col. Danny McKnight, known for his survival of “Black Hawk Down.”
